Slow and Steady

Slow and steady is what wins the race, right?? I thought I was doing well, not causing anyone shin splints, just walking along as fast as my feet carry me. But I now have a problem. I'm being followed by a little guy, constantly mocking my slowness. Mom laughs and laughs cause we see him more and more and more (it was like that Waldo guy on Halloween! There were at least 5!)

First, we saw him AT Guide Dogs. Why was he waiting there for me? My feet are heavy people! If you could carry them for a day, you would understand that it takes a lot of work to move those things. And I have FOUR of them!

Then he showed up on our lunch time walking route! Look at him there, mocking me! We walked away, but guess what...

He grabbed a flag and followed us down the road - like he's having a parade for my slowness.

I'm seriously over him. And the laughing he provokes when he shows up someplace I was perfectly happy walking along and my Scootie pace. Who is this yahoo to tell me to step it up??

Whatever Dude.

I Don't Wanna Be a Chicken!

Every year, Mom and Dad go to something called Butter and Egg Day in our town (Foley took Dagan last year, and Poppy went before that.)

BUT, what no one told me is this: GOING TO A PARADE ABOUT CHICKENS AND COWS DOES BAD BAD THINGS TO PUPPIES!

It's all innocent and fun - at first.

The cops come and start stuff off.

Cute dogs hang out and watch people and floats go by (love me a matching band!)

You discuss the parade entries with your friends.

You check out the people sitting around you.

Seriously weird people come walking and rolling by.

Then BAM! You look down and see that you are changing into something you never thought you would be. Totally unaware, you had been enjoying the parade until the horror strikes...

You start growing feathers! Oh! How will I ever survive being a chicken?!?! How does this happen to someone as cute as me??

It was so horrifying that I passed out from the shock.

Luckily, when I woke up, Mom had exorcised all the chicken bits and I was back to all lab.

Phew! That was a close one!

A Day at the Beach

It was finally warm enough for us to go visit Dagan's favorite place! My peeps have been since I got here, but I was too little to go!

After snoozing through church, I was well rested for our adventure!

Ummm... No one told me that the water chases you! Who enjoys that?!?! SO unkind!!

I kept a close eye on it, so it wouldn't get me! But Dagan as having so much fun! He convinced me to be just a little brave.

Once I started exploring, it wasn't so bad.

I even let it touch my feet!

It might look like I wanted to chase the ball Dad was gonna throw for Dagan, but really - I was just waiting for Dagan to run so I could chase him! Who needs tennis balls?? Chasing brother is way more fun!

After all that running, my church nap wore off and I needed a rest! We headed home, took a bath and settled in for the night. Sooo sleepy!

Playing Catch Up!

I've been a bad dog! Not many updates lately! I'm gonna blame Mom! I like pictures of me added to my entries and she just hasn't been taking nearly enough! But, there are a few...

So I'm gonna work on catching up an keeping up to date! It's been a busy couple of months! I'm 10 months old now and, generally, a rock star! My feet move slowly, but not much rattles me.

Except not getting something yummy. Here's my pouty face when no one would give me a cupcake on Friday...

It totally shoulda worked. It didn't. So sad.

Gotta get some sleep! Busy day ahead!

Whatcha Lookin For??

When helping Mom in the kitchen the other day, we lost something. Mom went to dry her hands and the towel was missing! What the what???

It had JUST been there, hanging on the front of the cabinet drawer! I was JUST sitting by it! (it's a good spot to get a little splashing when Mom is doing the dishes - she really is quite splashy!)

I decided to help her look.

(Scooter walking with a hand towel over his hips)

I wandered all over the kitchen to see if I could find the towel. I looked by the stove and the table and the fridge. I looked by the sink and the freezer and the dog bowls (I *may* have looked a little longer by the dog bowls, in hopes that Mom would forget about the towel and feed me!)

Finally, I gave up! All that wandering around made me tired! And all of Mom's laughing didn't help anything! Why is losing a towel so stinkin funny??

(Scooter sitting - towel still on his hips)

Oh well! I tried to help!

Sore Head!

I'm not sure why, but I gots a head ache today! I'm just innocently playing and having fun, then BAM! Something runs in to me! First, I was doing Labbie Loops in the yard and BAM the pole smacked me right in the noggin!

Mean pole! It just leapt right in front of me as I was scootin by at top speed! Dumb pile knocked me on my butt! I shook it off and headed inside (if Pole could do that, what else might try to get me out there??)

Sooo I come in and am playing with my bone. I put my big ol paw on it and skate around the house. But, it got away from me and slid under the dog food cabinet. I couldn't let Boney Bone hide! No way! So, I slid in behind Boney and BAM! Knocked in the noggin again!!

What did I do to deserve such treatment?? Dagan says it's cause I laughed at Mr Kitty's hospital issued hat and hair cut (seriously! They are HIL-arious!) but, I guess that's not so nice.

Maybe Half Crate will keep me safe!

I'll be here if you need me! (passed out from head pain, perhaps, but I'll be here!)

Woof,
Scooter
