12 Days of Scooter Christmas - Day #3

On the third day of Christmas, Scootie said to me: "Please, no more vets!"

December included many vet trips for me. At least I found a comfy way to wait in the vet clinic.
(Scooter's wrinkly head between knees, with the rest of his body slumped along legs to the ground, belly exposed)

Warm compresses are kinda nice - toasty warm and some special Mom-time 3 days a day - not bad!
(Scooter's belly with a warm washcloth covering his boy parts)

The party hat kinda stinks though! It makes my head too big to fit most places, which is no fun!
(Scooter looking up at the camera with sad eyes, while wearing his big cone)

Just thinking about all that recovery makes a boy tired! Time for rest!
(Scooter wrapped up in a red blanket, big giant paw looped over the front edge)

12 Days of Scooter Christmas - Day #2

On the second day of Christmas, Scootie said to me: "I haaaaaate shopping!" Shopping is boring! Shopping is tiring! Shopping is stupid!
(Scooter with sad eyes in the purse department)

(Scooter zonked on the floor, with a scarf over his shoulders)

12 Days of Scooter Christmas - Day #1

Christmas was SO busy that I had to wait until AFTER Christmas to tell you all about it!

On the 1st day of Scooter Christmas, there was so much to see! Mom and Dad took us - so many lights! Pretty!

We went (more than once!) to see Weaver's Wonderland light display. It was SUPER bright and super cold on my bum!
(Weaver House all lit up - hundreds of thousands of lights, Disney Characters - including all 101 Dalmations - Where's Waldo and various other Christmas peeps)

Snow White was there and I thought she could use an 8th dwarf. Mom didn't think so - she said I won't be dwarf-y very much longer! But, I think I fit in!
(Scooter, in his Santa hat, sitting with Snow White and the dwarfs)

Everyone I see tells me how big I am - but the Weavers have Great Danes that make me look like a dwarf! This is their last Great Dane. He isn't around any more. :( But, he's always there for Christmas!
(Giant wooden cut out of a great dane)

But what is that between his feet?? Doesn't anyone clean up after that guy?? I know he's wooden, but still!
(A great dane-size wooden poo cut out between the great dane's feet)

One time when we went, my buddy Saxon went with us. We tried to get the sleigh to take off, but I guess you need reindeer for that.

(Scooter sitting in a kid-sized sleigh with Saxon out front)

Such fun!

Not Nice!

Dear Mama,
It's not nice to torture puppies. It is mean and unfair. Especially when you sit back and laugh about it. It's just plain mean! I only have so much will power to ignore things that are not mine. Even when they are things that would normally be mine. Putting toys for me ON a table, making them not mine, makes my brain hurt.

(Scooter staring at a coffee table full of Nylabones waiting to be ribboned for the puppy group)

I think I need some cuddles after that!

(Scooter cuddled up in a blanket)

Awww thats better. But, I keep dreaming about those bones!

Last one gone!

Yippy!! The last one! I
took it at lunch time yesterday. So happy! I was SO tired of them that I wasn't even excited about my extra food! (I pouted and refused to eat it, hoping the pill would not go down without it. I was wrong). Here it is:

(hand holding an antibiotic pill)

I'm done! 3 weeks of pills, pills and more pills. Done! My big lump has shrunk and the sore part is gone. My broken tooth is getting wiggly. I'm on the mend! Now, I can relax.

(sleeping Scooter wrapped in a red blanket)

And meet some new friends

(scooter nose to nose with a horse)

Life is good!

Dear Mama

Dear Mama,
Enough shopping already! Or, you will get more of this face:

(Scooter lying by a purse display, slight head tilt and sad eyes going on)

I did it!!

And it made Mama SOOOO happy! She told me over and over and over that I am a good good boy. She jumped up and down. She clapped and danced. I wagged and wagged and wagged cause I made Mama SO happy!

Wanna know what I did?? I jumped into the car all by myself! ALL. BY. MYSELF!!! It's been hard to do, cause I'm just and baby and my 55 pound butt is hard to heft that high. But, I DID IT!! Mama is so happy not to have to get my back end for me anymore.

Almost 30 for 30

So, its more like 29 for 30. I am SO super bummed that I messed up on the second to last day of November! Seriously! It's the blog-o-day month! And I messed it up! Such a bummer. This is my second post for today, so maybe that will count and make up for yesterday.

Here is what I was gonna post yesterday ('sept *someone* hogged the computer all night!)

Tuesday's Ten!

Ten things that are great about my week of medical problem:
1) Food lots of times during the day!
2) Pills that need to be given with food every 12 hours
3) Pills that need to be given with food every 8 hours
4) 2 pills with breakfast
5) my 8 hour pill with a snack around 2
6) my 12 hour pill with dinner
7) my last 8 hour pill with a snack before bed.
8) food 4 times per day! That's 4!
9) knowing that Dagan isn't getting fed like me!
10) Thinking... thinking... Hey wait! Almost time for bed! Gotta go get my pill! (and snack!)

Mostly Wordless Wednesday

Does my new hat make my head look small??

Or does my warm compress make my legs look scrawny??

The Ups and Downs of Sunday

Yesterday was a mixed bag!

Started good: Foleyand Lester were still here to play.

(Scooter and Foley playing tug with a person)

It continued good. I got to visit my church friends and take a little nap. I only got shaken out of my snoring once during the sermon - so that's pretty good.

(Scooter sleeping at church)

Then my peeps took me to some Off the Grid place to look at some trucks. The trucks gave my peeps food and made them happy.

(Scooter in front of a food truck)

Then, the good continued and we took a walk. Mom said I was a rockstar. But, I say I was a hole in one!

(Scooter sitting in a large hole cut out in a tree trunk)

All good, right?? But that's where it ended!

Next came some concern about a growing bump on my belly. It started small and grew real fast and hurt my belly! I did some crying and moaning. There was lots of discussion about it, then mama decided I needed a trip to the vet.

I waited patiently in the waiting room.

(Scooter's profile as he sat in the waiting room)

Then I had to wait in a room. But at least I got to cuddle with mama some there.

(Scooter squished between legs, his butt rolled under in a full slouch)

(Scooter lying on the exam room floor looking up at the camera)

The vet looked. And poked. And prodded. Not sure what The Thing is (I won't post pics - it would scare you away! Plus, its in a ehem delicate location and I don't post puppy porn) maybe a bug bite? Maybe an infected hair follicle? Maybe I was abducted by aliens and they implanted me with a tracking chip??

I'm going with the alien theory. Why else would I end up with a satellite dish on my head?!?

(Scooter on his bed, wearing his e-collar)

The aliens are making me tired! Time for another nap. Hopefully today will have more ups than downs.

Alien Wags,

I wrote a whole note about my good/not so good day, but it disappeared! But, I am now so sleepy, I will just leave you with this...

(Scooter in an e-collar)

Not such a good ending. Story to follow...

Can't wag, it would echo,

Black Friday!

I know it's Saturday, but Black Friday started yesterday around here. Most people think of this when they hear "Black Friday"

(Scooter sitting in a shoe store in front of stacks of shoes)

But THIS is what Black Friday is at my house! All the black boys hanging out together! Yippy! Foley came to visit, to add to our black blur.

Foley and I shared some down time on my hammock

(Foley down and Scoot sitting on the dog hammock)

And meal times are always fun!

(Foley, Dagan and Scoot watching their breakfast be made)

Too much watching leads to this though:

(drool drips on the floor)

Here is more of our blur

(a blur of black dogs wrestling)

While the people eat, we did the inspecting

(three black butts under the table)

But we sure are cute when we try to be.

(Foley, Dagan and Scooter sitting)

We even had a little gold thrown in for good measure

(Golden Lester under the table)

(Leater and Scoot sniffing around the yard)

Yup, Black Friday is good around here! But it leaves me SO sleepy!

Big Boy Ride

I'm riding like a big boy! Some day, I will graduate to the whole back and even be able to share the back with Dagan. But, for now, when it's just me, I get half the back! Woo hoo!

(Scooter standing in the back of the suv next to the crate)

This is what I see when I ride like this

(Scooter, in the way back, seen from rear view mirror perspective)

Happy Thanksgiving

Dagan and I wish you a happy Thanksgiving! We hope you had a great day with your loved ones. We have so much to be thankful for. Including each other! Love my brother!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's been a rough day! I broke my toof! One of the big pointy ones! My dad and I were playing this morning and my toof got caught on his ring. He pulled and I pulled and my toof broke right in two! Then, I swallowed it! Ick!

(Scooter waiting at the vet)

Luckily, it's one of my baby toofs and not one of my new big boy teef. But, because it broke, I had to go visit my doctor today. She said "Ouch!!" She felt so bad for me that she did something ah-mazing!! She gave me a CET chew! Holy Moses! Sooo awesome! Dagan gets them all the time, but I never do. Until today!! Score! I chewed and chewed and chewed and chewed. Doc said she wanted to see if using my toof hurt me. She was super happy with all my gnawing.

(Scooter watching the exam room door, waiting for the vet)

I have to take some medicine to take to keep it from getting infected. And we will have to make some decisions about when it gets taken out, cause she doesn't think my big toof will come in right with the broken one in the way.

So that's been my day, full of ick and excitement.

Hopefully, my toof stays
Not hurty, cause I hear that tomorrow is all about food!

Time to take my medicine. Blech!

53.4 pounds! That's how much I weighed before getting soaking wet today. And how did I get wet, you ask?? Not. My. Fault.

Someone made me climb the stairs of doom! And this is where I ended up.

(Scooter in the tub at the dog wash)

Um... Yeah. Who signed me up for this?? Not. Me. After the wet came the soap. Then came the wet again. Then the towel.

(Scooter with a pink towel over his head)

Pink is not my color people! This is a much better method of drying!

(completely blurred Scooter mid shake)

Hey! This is a pretty good way too!

Better drying!

Now I stink and my fur feels funny. But mama's happy.

(Scooter clean and sorta dry)

Imprisonment is not fair

All I gotta say is that imprisonment of the innocent is not fair in any culture!

(Scooter behind the x-pen, hoping to join Dagan on the side of freedom)

Can I get a little help please? Or at least a little food in my bowl??

Refusing to wag until exonerated,
